Therapeutic experiential workshops are one of the most successful therapeutic interventions in modern history. Sunset Bay Academy has successfully utilized the parent, student, and family “experiential workshops” to heal and reunite the troubled family.

Our experiential workshop are designed to help teens and their families gain insight of their personal issues and destructive behavioral patterns. It all starts with the Basic Teen Workshop and progresses through an advanced program, leadership program, and family program.

Teen Basic Workshop

The SBA “Teen Basic Workshop” provides a student with the awareness that they are responsible for the choices they make in their lives. The Teen Basic Workshop helps young people improve self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. Through this workshop teens begin to explore the possibility that they can aim for something more in life and are given the tools to become responsible for their choices.

Teen Advanced

The Teen Advanced Workshop creates an opportunity for troubled teens to break through their fears and let go of their self-limiting beliefs. It is an intensive workshop where teens are introduced to the values and characteristis that are required to live a healthy and prosperous life. Troubled teens have a chance to overcome their past and present circumstances to accomplish the unexpected. This workshop empowers teens to chart their vision of their future.

Teen Leadership Workshop

Our one day achievement workshops prepare teens in specific areas of social development; Personal Growth, Skills Building, Team Building, Decision Making, and Leadership Development. These are periodic workshops for SBA students to further develop the integrated leadership philosophies taught at Sunset Bay Academy. This process deepens the understanding and application of advanced leadership skills.

Adult Basic

This first experiential workshop is available to all current Sunset Bay Academy parents. Adults become aware of the new possibilities in their lives to take action in unprecedented ways and to stand for what they value in life. This workshop improves self-worth, self-esteem and self-confidence. Adults discover the underlying beliefs and views that determine their personal experiences and results in life. This workshop sets the stage to begin to explore the possibility of having more in life.

Adult Advanced

The second experiential workshop creates an opportunity for adults to break through their own fears and to let go of their self-limiting beliefs. It is an intensive workshop where adults access what is required to live a healthy and prosperous life. Adults have a chance to overcome past and present circumstances in order to accomplish the unexpected. This workshop empowers parents to chart a vision of the future.

Family Workshops

This is a 2-day workshop created to provide families with a safe and structured environment to work together as a family. Family members gain the necessary tools and help to communicate, build trust and respect, and to effectively deal with the deeper issues. These workshops lay the foundation to help restore and rebuild a healthy family dynamic.

Our experiences in life shape how we view the world. Likewise, a student’s family dynamically impacts their personal world view. This therapeutic process is an opportunity for parents and teens to acquire the tools to heal, forgive, and grow as a family. The staff of SBA coach, guide, and support the family through the difficulties of the past and bring forth healing opportunities for a fresh future.

In the Family Workshops the first step is reframe the “past events” in order to create a new direction for the future. We are firm in our belief that an essential part of the growth process is total family participation, and everyone receives a voice and is “heard”.

Family Workshops offer a positive peer culture for all participating SBA families. There is an established support system that will serve as your emotional safety net. They are the network of SBA parents and staff that offer their unwavering support unconditionally.
