Boot camp
Boot camps are military style institutions that also focus on behavior and discipline. The goal is to work with the teenager during a certain period (months usually) to make them follow rules, obey the authority and improve behavior in general. Although it sounds good, it may not be the best option for you, since these camps do not have psychological considerations with teenagers, and their approach is harsh, with no chance of understanding anyone’s emotions.
As the name indicates, therapeutic schools are institutions that focus on dealing with the student’s emotions and behavior through therapy and psychological intervention. They provide the help the teenager needs through academic support, individual or group sessions and patience.
For a troubled teen struggling with their emotions, as well as for their parents, the last one is the option that will help improve behavior and the relationship with the people around them.
