Due to the impact of drugs on the brain, dependency can develop. Despite adolescents believing they can use the substance at will and stop anytime, in reality, much of their use stems from a compulsive need known as drug addiction.

The use of drugs during adolescence can alter brain chemistry and contribute to the development of these disorders, potentially leading to long-term psychological difficulties.

When under the influence of a substance, people may find themselves in risky situations due to their poor judgment.
