A responsible therapeutic residential treatment center takes the wellbeing of the family as its priority. Every person is an important component of a community, their family is part of it. Any member of that family member struggling, it will show up one way or another.
Bad example
Many programs could be failing because they are just focusing on getting the teens to pass school, or getting them to be okay while on a youth program. If the teen does not respond, they could be bounced around from a youth program to a psychologist, and into a residential treatment center, and back again.
They could relapse at some point with the negative behavior.
