Therapy in a boarding school for difficult child

You are not alone

Taking advice from anybody regarding a boarding school for difficult children must be met with a lot of prudence. Kindness is part of being strong and courageous, but kindness without taking into account the possible outcomes, of their advice, can affect the life of a person. Taking care of a person can’t be a: ‘set it and forget it’ method. Creating connections is one of the benefits of expressing emotions and the way of knowing what empathy feels like.

You are not alone in working towards giving children that ability. Many boarding schools know that therapy can help the child build a connection with another person, and little by little, be self-aware of his behavior how it affects their future.

Personal therapy session

Have you noticed that, when someone expresses something both had gone through, you feel understood? Connecting through a relationship of care, empathy, and intimacy promotes the idea that you aren’t alone and an alternative to give it a solution, due to the experience of others.

We have helped many families go through the process of helping difficult children. We have seen so many of them, owning their gained abilities to deal with life circumstances, such as addiction, at-risk behavior, learning disabilities, or mental health disorders.

At Sunset Bay Academy we are a therapeutic school that can help, we offer to review the case of any teenager that could possibly need our help (free of charge).

The combination that works

Integrating the family is part of building a support system for each one of the family members, which can help your teenager’s future. Finding your team to build your support system is possible. Being part of a therapeutic program is not an easy process, nor fast, but it is the better way.

At Sunset Bay Academy we give a variety of extracurricular activities so every teenager can be challenged, to see a broad diversity of ways to take part in a group or develop on their own, as a healthy activity suited to their way of expressing or managing their feelings. Academic activities alone won’t be the solution: Therapy, academic and extracurricular activities is a working combination.
