Main topics

All schools have mobile phone policies, some of them may allow them. For example, as a residential treatment center for teens we at Sunset Bay Academy believe it is a distracting factor for students. In case of emergencies or in extreme need we allow them access to technology with supervision. We seek to avoid our students both children and teenagers, to answer phone calls during class. There is a time for everything, and when it is time to learn it is best not to get distracted with anything.

There are certain things absolutely forbidden to bring into the classroom, such as: Laptops, smart watches, tablets, etc. It is because we are an alternative school for troubled youth, so we try to keep an eye on our students. We truly care about their improvement process so they can achieve the desired goal.

It is scientifically proven that when students get easily distracted, it will affect their learning process. That is the main reason why we do not allow our students to bring certain items. They must know what not to bring to boarding schools.

Boarding schools are known for their capability of having students stay overnight in their shared rooms around the campus. Unlike day school which is different in terms of parents having to take their children to school and coming back to pick them up.
