A Good example of a therapeutic residential treatment center

good-example-of-therapeutic-residential-treatment-center

A responsible therapeutic residential treatment center takes the wellbeing of the family as its priority. Every person is an important component of a community, their family is part of it. Any member of that family member struggling, it will show up one way or another.

Bad example

Many programs could be failing because they are just focusing on getting the teens to pass school, or getting them to be okay while on a youth program. If the teen does not respond, they could be bounced around from a youth program to a psychologist, and into a residential treatment center, and back again.

They could relapse at some point with the negative behavior.

Being bounced and turned from one place to another is not the optimal circumstance for anybody to be in, especially a person that needs residential treatment, in which patience and consistency are a must. We understand something could be out of our hands, that is why we can talk about the good examples available.

Good example

therapeutic-residential-treatment-centerCreating a safe environment that the teen needs, helps build skills to break cycles of negative risk-taking, violence, and future addiction relapse. Putting the possible loopholes in perspective (of residential treatment centers), can help to put things into perspective on how to work together.

At Sunset Bay Academy, we have experience with such cases of teenagers in need of a therapeutic treatment center. Integrating the family is part of building a support system for each one of the family members, which can help your child’s future.

Due to this good example, we have seen success stories in our academy.

We handle therapy in 3 ways:

  • Individual
  • Group
  • Family therapy

It is important that everyone works in close partnership for the well-being of any teen and this includes the family that is affected by their actions.

Being part of a therapeutic residential program is not an easy process, nor fast. We at SBA have years of experience and we recognize the levels of commitment it can take in each family member. Taking part in the process to encourage positive change takes a skilled and compassionate team of professionals.
